Sanford River Walk – July 11th, 2026
Lake Monroe is currently experiencing historically low water levels, presenting us with a unique and urgent opportunity. While our typical focus is on in-water cleanups near our local spring heads, we are shifting gears for this special event. By taking advantage of the receding waterline, we can remove exposed debris along the shoreline before the water rises and carries it into the St. Johns River—and ultimately, the ocean.
Join us for a morning of community action and help us protect our waterways from the ground up!
Event Details
- Date: July 11th
- Time: 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Location: Sanford River Walk (Walking Path)
- Parking: 921 W. Seminole Blvd, Sanford, FL
To maximize our impact and cover as much ground as possible, this cleanup will be split up in to groups. You will be assigned a number upon arrival and assigned to a specific zone along the path.
What to Bring
- Comfortable walking shoes (closed-toe strongly recommended)
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
- A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated in the summer heat
- Any personal cleanup gear you prefer (though bags and standard gear will be provided)
Trash & Dash (or roll?) Bring your bikes, skateboards, electric scooters, or whatever gets you moving! Cruising the path means we can cover more ground, catch a nice breeze, and have a lot more fun while taking out the trash.
Let’s take advantage of this low water and protect the St. Johns River together. See you on the River Walk!
