Join the Clean Water Coalition: Soldiers Creek River Cleanup!

Let’s get our hands dirty for a good cause! Soldiers Creek needs some TLC, and we’re looking for locals ready to jump in and make an immediate, visible difference. Grab your boots, bring your energy, and join us for a highly rewarding day out on the water.

  • Location: Soldiers Creek – Longwood, FL (Meet-up spot to be emailed upon registration)

  • Time: 8:00 to 11:00am

What to Bring

To make sure you have a safe and comfortable time out on the creek, please come prepared! We recommend bringing:

  • 🥾 Mud-Ready Attire: Wear old clothes and sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy.
  • 💧 Hydration & Fuel: A reusable water bottle and your favorite snacks to keep your energy up.
  • 🦟 Sun & Bug Protection: Florida bugs and sun are no joke! Please bring bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
  • 🧤 Cleanup Gear: If you have them, bring your own thick work gloves and trash grabbers. (Don’t worry if you don’t—we will have extras on hand!)

  • ⚖️ A scale to weigh and track our total cleanup impact!

Volunteer Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

By participating in the volunteer river cleanup (the “Activity”) organized by the Clean Water Coalition, I agree to the following terms:

1. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participating in waterway cleanups involves certain inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to: walking on slippery, muddy, or uneven terrain; working in and around water; encountering local wildlife or insects; exposure to unpredictable weather; and handling sharp, heavy, or unsanitary debris. I voluntarily choose to participate and assume all responsibility for any risks, known and unknown, including the risk of injury, illness, or property damage.

2. Release of Liability
I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Clean Water Coalition, its board members, officers, organizers, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of any injury, illness, damage, or loss that I may suffer during or resulting from my participation in the Activity.

3. Medical Emergency
In the event of an emergency, I grant permission for the Clean Water Coalition organizers to arrange for immediate medical treatment if I am unable to do so. I understand that the Clean Water Coalition does not assume any responsibility or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including medical, health, or disability insurance, in the event of injury or illness.

4. Photographic Release
I grant the Clean Water Coalition permission to use photographs or video footage taken of me during the Activity for promotional, educational, or informational purposes, including on their website and social media.
